EBay is huge. There is no arguing that fact. A lot of people use it and a lot of people make money from it. It is in its own way important to the success of the internet as it gives you something you cannot get elsewhere. It too is responsible for the increase of globalisation which I will touch on later.

Firstly then how easy is it to buy things off eBay? Well the answer depends on what you are buying really. In general there is a lot available to buy on eBay and you can get most of it below the retail price. This is due to people being able to sell direct to the buyer and being therefore only having to charge wholesale prices. I personally have bought quite a few things off eBay. Some of it specialist hat you would not be able to get from a shop in the UK. This includes things like Japanese model kits and DVD’s. The format of buying is quite easy too. You simple search for what you want and a list of open auctions appear. The list shows how long is left and what price the item is currently on. If you find something you like you can choose how much you wish to bid on that item.

EBay gives you links all across the globe. You can pretty much buy anything from anywhere from anyone. It shows again how the internet aids globalisation. This time in my view for the better as it provides a platform to make money and exchange specialist items from other cultures.

Is there anything more exciting than having to fight for those exclusive jeans from Next that would have cost 35 quid brand new BUT you might just get them for £15.

This is the phenomenon called EBAY and I am hooked…… Big Style. I can not help myself when someone says they paid loads of money for a leather coat and this little voice jumps from my throat saying,’ I could have got that cheaper on EBAY’.
One example, I had a crisis of having to go to a posh do and I had nothing to wear, so 2 weeks before I scanned Ebay and got a Fab dress and Sandals for £20. And to be a little modest , I LOOKED FAB and it was all down to an internet site that grabs your attention and then never lets go.
Also sold loads of stuff, that in my eyes should really go in bin, but one mans rubbish is another mans treasure.

At work I am the EBAY queen. Everyone asks me for EBAY advice and I now know that my mission in life is to promote the wonderful addiction to ebay….

I first joined ebay in 2002 but didnt really look at it or do anything until late last year. Hubby and I had alot of things just taking up room so we looked into selling on Ebay and that is how it started!

It is very easy to join up with ebay, you have two options. Either use an email address from a service provider e.g BT or NTL or use a different email address and put a credit or debit card on file. I think this is just to verify you and they dont use the card details for anything else.

They only need a few bits from you, name, address, phone number and they also want you to provide a username and password so that you can log into ebay.

After you have registered you can start to buy and sell. If you want to sell on ebay you can either put a credit or debit card on file or you can pay your ebay selling fees via a cheque or postal order or by direct debit.

It is hard to believe that stuff i have no use for anymore has become other peoples treasure.
